6 Fun Ways to Upcycle Your Empties
If you're like most people, when you finish a product, you simply toss the empty container in the recycling bin and move on with your life. But what if I told you that there was a better way? A way to upcycle those empties into something new and exciting?
Well, there is! Here are 6 fun ways to upcycle your skincare, makeup, and hair care empties. Trust me, once you see how easy and fun it is, you'll be hooked!
1. Use an empty lipstick tube as a Travel Pill Case
If you're always on the go and tend to forget your pills, this is the perfect solution for you! Simply remove the lipstick from the tube and use it to store your pills. The best part is that you can re-use the empty lipstick tube over and over again!
2. Turn an Empty Foundation Bottle into a Pencil Holder.
This one is super simple and only requires a few supplies that you probably already have lying around the house. All you need is an empty foundation bottle, some paper or fabric, scissors, and glue. Cut your paper or fabric to fit around the foundation bottle and glue it in place. Then voila! You've got a brand-new pencil holder!
3. Use an Empty Perfume Bottle as a Flower Vase
This is a great way to upcycle those pretty perfume bottles that you don't want to throw away. Simply remove the label from the bottle and use it to hold fresh or artificial flowers. You can even get creative and paint the bottle if you want!
4. Transform an Empty Makeup Palette into a Picture Frame
This one is a bit more time-consuming but definitely Worth It™️. First, remove all of the makeup from the palette and clean it thoroughly. Next, use Mod Podge or another decoupage medium to adhere photos or other lightweight paper objects to the front of the palette. Once it's dry, you can add any additional embellishments that you'd like!
5. Create a Jewelry Organizer from an Empty Nail Polish Bottle
This is such a genius idea! Simply remove the lid from an empty nail polish bottle and use it to organize your jewelry, such as rings and earrings. The best part is that it keeps everything visible so you can see what you have at a glance! Plus, it looks super chic on your dresser or vanity!
6. Make a DIY Candle Holder from an Empty Glass Jar.
This project is perfect for those who love candles but hate seeing the ugly wax residue that they leave behind. All you need for this one is an empty glass jar (I like using mason jars), some sandpaper, and paint (optional). Start by sanding down the outside of the jar so that it's smooth to the touch. Then, if desired, paint the jar with acrylic paint in any color or design that you like. Let it dry completely before adding a candle!
Who knew that there were so many ways to upcycle your empties? I hope this list has inspired you to try some of these projects yourself!
