A Comprehensive Skincare Routine for Teenagers

As a teenager, having healthy skin can make a world of difference in your self-confidence. Fortunately, taking good care of your skin doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Here's a comprehensive skincare routine that will help you keep your skin looking and feeling great!

Cleanse Twice Daily

The most important part of any skincare routine is cleansing. This means washing your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser. It also helps if you use lukewarm water when washing your face; hot water can dry out the skin and strip away natural oils. Cleansing will remove dirt, oil, bacteria, pollution particles and other debris from the skin that could cause acne breakouts or other issues. Make sure to choose a cleanser that is specifically designed for teenagers as these are usually gentler than those made for adults.


Once you’ve cleansed the skin, it’s important to moisturize it properly in order to keep it hydrated and plump. Moisturizers come in many forms such as lotions, creams, gels and serums depending on what type of coverage you need and what works best with your particular skin type. Choose something that is light weight but still provides enough hydration for your specific needs (oily/dry/combination). Use Sunscreen

Sun damage is one of the leading causes of wrinkles and other visible signs of aging so it's very important to protect yourself from UV rays every day even if it's just cloudy outside (because yes UV rays still penetrate through clouds). Choose an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen that is broad spectrum (this means it protects against both UVA & UVB rays) for maximum protection. Apply liberally 15 minutes before going outdoors and always reapply every two hours!
